Scalp Massages

Scalp Massage
The importance of a scalp massage can never be understated in hair care. You don't need any fancy gadgets to have a good scalp massage. You can give yourself a finger massage, or better still, get someone else to do it for you.
A fifteen minute massage done once a week will not only help keep your hair in excellent condition, it will also help relieve you of stress.

  • Warming the oil before a massage will help the oil pervade the outer layers of the skin.
  • It is also important to massage the nape of your neck. This helps ease out the stressed out muscles that tend to tense up in this area.
  • Bring the massage down to include your shoulders and upper back muscles as well.
  • Massaging gently at the temples will not only stimulate the roots of your hair, but the also help the facial muscles tighten up and rejuvenate.
  • The massage should cover every bit of your scalp. Make sure it is done in an orderly manner. The top of the head comes first and then it goes gently down to the sides.
  • Massages should be done gently so as not to break the hair follicles. Never let a novice masseur lay his or her hands on you.
  • It should be done smoothly so as to prevent hair getting knotted and entangled.
  • If your scalp massage is, in any way, painful or uncomfortable stop it at once. There is obviously something wrong.
But once you hit on the right method, you will realise it is something to be enjoyed.
